the window box, my twist

Okay, it's really not my idea, but as I have been driving back and forth from my parents home to the beach, a pretty cottage with these great window ledges kept catching my eye.As soon as I saw them, I said, "I have to do that!" Well, 4 years later I've done it! Nothing like taking my time...

They are plainly window box brackets, with a 1x8x8 piece of wood, with terra cotta pots, which will be on top, varying in sizes. I screwed the brackets in, had the wood cut, and painted with an outdoor paint/sealer.

Of course, we are expecting snow here so I haven't set up my pots yet, (Blah!). I will be planting impatiens in the pots. I can't wait to see the pots bursting with colorful flowers and the look as a whole!

  1. very sweet idea. i have been wanting to do something like that, too (for just as long!).

    happy spring (?)

  2. Alyssa, that will look fabulous with plants under the window. Well done. Visiting from Tracie's. ♥Olive

  3. I look forward to seeing your pots too! I love the whole window box thing anyway! This type is really neat!
    Yay Spring!

  4. Hey, this is a great idea! Make sure your pots are heavy or weight them down w/ rocks so they won't blow over in a big storm. Can't wait to see the finished product.

  5. how are you going to keep the pots from falling off in a wind? I love the idea and can't wait to see them. we are expecting 12 inches here oh joy.

  6. Calling by from Cottage Flora Thursday, I think window boxes will complete the look beautifully. Good to meet you.

  7. it will look so cute with pots!!!! great idea!

I read every sweet comment and thank you for enjoying boston bee. health, love, creativity, and happiness to you ;)Alyssa
