apple picking time in Massachusetts

Last weekend we went apple picking with some fun friends! What a great time we had! There's nothing better...ahh...Fall in New England. But, of course being a hearty New Englander and living here for 35 years, I am a bit partial to this little part of the world. ;)

The Apple Tree

Inside the working apple factory...The smells are unbelievable...Fresh pies and dumplings, candy apples, penny candy...the smells haven't changed since I was a little girl traveling here with my Nana and Poppa!

Can I please move into this workspace? It would be perfect for me! A few jars of paintbrushes, paints, scraps of paper, and I'm GOLDEN DELICIOUS! 

When you bring a 5 year old to go apple picking dress him or her in bright clothing!

Here is my newest collage art. I tried a more involved type of collage using a photo of my grandparents when my grampy was in the service. This is done on Gesso board and I usually work on canvas. It was different for me, but I think I'm in love with these boards! This type of photo media was inspired by the works of Sarah Ahearn Bellemare. It really forces you to look at the nooks and crannies of it for it does tell a story. I have found that I like to do more hand drawn painted art on my board, rather than paper cuts, but we'll see where it grows from here... :)

                     RED: fruit punch, poppies, lobster, red delicious apples, strawberries and my new vintage chippy chairs....

With some black toile fabric cushions these will be fab for us!
