i made a hot cocoa bar.
I used a vintage sled to hold the vintage box. Inside I filled 2 mason jars with oversized candy canes and marshmallows. Then I used a candy jar and filled it with hot cocoa powder. This is set up next to the Poland Spring water cooler where hot water is just a flick of the lever. I also used a chalkboard in a vintage frame. I did my little writing on it and presto! The cousins that have been in and out of my house love it, plus the one kiddo that lives here!;)

dining room dreams
this time of year, especially, makes me yearn for a dining room. I live in a small home, which we love, but we do need a dining room. Why you ask?
I love to decorate.
I love to entertain.
I love dishes, designing the table settings, napkins, napkin holders, holidays...
I dream of having a dining room where I can display dishes and change all of my wares with the season.
Where I can have all of my family and friends gather and enjoy a big "sit down" meal together.
Dreams are fun to think about.
Meg Duerksen.com: This home is used for craft weekends, but I'd love this much room for entertaining. |

halloween here at Boston Bee
we had a Halloween party for our fun loving 7 year old and i decorated Flea Circus Style (my vintage decor business) using yard sale furniture finds and more! I had such a blast decorating for the party. A photo booth started the party off in style. We used hay bales for sitting areas and had a bon fire to keep cold adults warm. Also used-Old mattress springs with tea lights hanging from the trees. It was an awesome night! Feel free to share or pin, just give Boston Bee or The Flea Circus credit. Thank you!

this and that
a post about this and that.
This little golden doodle (he's not golden in color as you can see), came into our lives this week. We got him from the breeder where we got our little pocket beagle, Max. This little guy grew up 10 feet away from a cranberry bog near the Ocean Spray company.
He's fluffy,
cuddly, soft
sweet, smells like baby powder from his new shampoo, Max's big little brother,
and our new dog! He's also going to grow much bigger than Max. Look out, Max! We named him Ollie.
That is a celebration. We celebrated my mom's birthday. I made strawberry shortcake in Mason jars. So yummy! But, I forgot to take a picture of them, so here are the flowers I picked for the table from our garden. Lilies. They smell VERY strong. A bit too strong, but they are pretty. Below is the corn on the grill that we made. It's soooooo yummy once you peel away the charred husks. To make: Soak the corn in water for about 45minutes., grill it for approx. 15 min. and it's bliss!
This is the best window washer in town! He thought it was funny to squirt me from the outside. He washed the front porch, brick walkway and all! Thanks for being so awesome, Will!
That means I'm tired this week! Raising a puppy is not easy. It's SO MUCH work! Consistency and a schedule is key. I'm not very good at both of those when I'm on summer vacation, but this dog is making me get back on track.
So, with that I found this amazing, inspiring blog for organization, getting rid of stuff and so much more. It's called, A BOWL FULL OF LEMONS. It's just what I need before I start back to work and the wild rumpus starts! Visit right now and tell her that I sent you!
