it's all about the presentation

What do you serve two six year olds for lunch on a summer afternoon?
Octopus Stew, Matey! (Sorry for the fuzzy pic. I had to take it on my phone before the boys devoured it!)

Hot Dog Octopus with Mac and Cheese Seaweed and Goldfish crackers. It was a hit! And, yes the boys did talk like pirates while they ate...;)

a good deed, decor and doodles

We made a list of good deeds that will be done over the summer. Inspired by Lindsay at The Pleated Poppy. Even though Church School is over today for the summer, we don't stop thanking God for what we have and we don't stop helping others.
good deeds: I'm very proud to say that all on my own my son heard about The Muscular Sclerosis Association of America looking for items for people to donate. (The big bag and postcard gave it away). He began naming off items that he would like to donate to others in need that he has that he just doesn't need. My husband and I work hard to instill in him that you have to work hard for what you have and give to others that are truly in need that work hard, but just don't have much.  Also, his Nana suffers from a muscular disease. He sees her struggles and her pains, but she still carries on and works hard. For that we are so proud! Our William has that glitter in his eyes...love you little tall guy. xoxo ;)

Doodles and Decor:

Some STYLE: Do you have vintage movie reels? Frame some vintage movie posters! I did this next to the flatscreen... :)

While my son was building a Lego creation I was doodling and gluing in my sketchbook...I guess I was feeling "circusy" at that moment.

It's a good morning!

tired crayons

I opened my now graduated kindergartener's crayon box and this is what I saw...

Tired crayons, broken crayons, unwrapped crayons, a hard worked pencil, a dull glue stick. If this crayon box could talk it would say, "Wooh! What a workout! I need a vacation!" The little guy who took you through your journey is saying the same thing. ;) Happy Summer!

stART on the street

What a fantastic day at stART on the street, art fest in Worcester, MA. Did you go? If not, here are a few  snapshots. My future tin can! I love this and need to buy one to have my studio shoppe on wheels. p.s. I have no idea who the people are in this picture, but they got into my photos! Shoo! Shoo!
A found gem! A PICKERS PARADISE right in my city?! What! I found some vintage tiles that I already turned into coasters with cool papers mod poged to them. Photo of those are coming!
I love the name of this shop and need to use it on a painting. So simple, so sweet.
Soooo,  I also found a *NeW* art studio that is going in on Green Street- where this fest was located called, "Just Paint" where you do just that! It's for kids and big kids too! I can't wait for them to open!!!
I had two boys in tow, so I didn't get to dilly dally like I had hoped, but I hope you got a sample. Visit their website for more info. It's a great event!
