new art...a whale of a tale

this image has been SOLD :) brewing in my brain for awhile so I had to get it on canvas. The quote, "Live in the sunshine, swim in the sea, drink the wild air " has been written with a brush and my hand. ;)

Below...This is what my 6 yr. old son draws on the bathroom chalkboard wall when he has to take a bath! Art is all about expression right?

right now I'm...

Ignoring the dirty dishes in the sink and the laundry that needs to be put into the dryer and taking some ME time to share the bliss. I have just...

1. Run my first 5K in 33 minutes this past Sunday!!! Totally happy about this and LOVE running now!!! I used to ski this distance a ton, but something about being 36 and running it was BIG for me! I've also lost 13 pounds and counting along the way so...YAY! I'm a RUNNER!

2. I registered for my first Squam Online Workshop. I can't make it to Squam Arts Retreat (Squam Lake, NH) because I'll be teaching, soooooo I treated myself to an online workshop taught by Alena Hennessy, who has done work for Target and ABC Studios (to name a few). This is a limited workshop and I got in! Loving it! I can't wait to start! Can ya sense my excitement?  I have my supply list ready to shop at C.C. Lowell. :)

3. Will be meeting with a published children's author for a small workshop at the end of the month. I get to bring my supplies and pick brains and all that fun stuff!
4. Also, next month I will be teaching a workshop with two other talented teachers from my school at a MA Reader's Conference. So exciting!

I'm not writing this to brag, so please take heart. I have had my up's and down's along the way and sometimes I felt like I was just going around in a circle...see pic. above! The same path over and over. It tends to happen to right brained people. But, when the time is right and in odd ways that I can't describe, all of the pieces start to fall into place. I say let the spirit move you and do what you love! Take a class and learn something new. Treat yourself, be aware and go with it.

Now to the dishes, don't love those...ARG!!!

"Mom, I got you the moon!"

Does a son's love get any bigger than this? Picture taken by my hubby, Dave for me. ;) I turned it into an instagram! The original was taken to L.B. Wheaton for printing and will be framed. I LOVE IT!!!

hey there mr. moon and a secret...

Our son is tucked into bed listening to his smooth jazz as he drifts off into dream land. The moon is bright and is filtering in through his blinds. So peaceful!

I just went to walk Max the dog for the 100th time and the air is so fresh! It's Spring, I say! A jet was turning at the same time and was so low above my house. The lights were blinking and you could almost see the passengers getting ready to make a landing. This flight was coming in from Florida. I'm so glad they brought the warm air in with the jet. ;)

Last night, my husband took Will outside with his brand new camera in hand and began snapping pictures of Will and the moon. Brrrr....(I stayed inside) The pics. were so cool! One pic. was of Will actually looking like he was holding the moon with his pointer finger and thumb. His pointer finger is actually glowing a bit! I wish, wish, wish I could show you, but that fancy shmancy new camera is glued to my husband's hands at the moment!

A secret...Will has lost his 2nd tooth and the tooth fairy has some shiny dollar coins waiting to slip under his pillow... He's so excited!!! He now has the perfect hole to squirt juice through. My friend, Kathy of Two Sisters Cookbook, gave me glittery bee and fairy stickers. I have been using them to decorate the tooth fairy envelopes with. There is always something magical about glittery stickers.

Do you wish on the moon? I do. It's such a mystifying, beautiful object. I wish on stars, four leaf clovers and lucky pennies too, but the moon is tops on my list. Have a restful, moondreamy evening.

Spring mantel decor

Today I was in the mood to finish some decor. I bought the mirror at Target for $30.00 and the rest from Michael's, flea markets and or Home Goods throughout the years. My mantel was custom built by Justin of  Green Effects Contractors.  Happy almost Spring!
